
Al Farabi Concerto concert
Basma Abdel-Rahim (violin) and her husband Kaamel Salah-Eldin (cello) will perform music by Carlo Antonio Campioni, Bartok, Haydn, Mozart, Gabrielli and the duo will also play music written especially for them by Basma’s father Gamal Abdel-Rahim (1924-1988) who was perhaps the most distinguished twentieth century Egyptian composer; he was also the founder in Cairo of the first School of Music Composition in the Arab world.
Basma and Kaamel are leader and principal cellist of the Frankfurt-based Horus Ensemble.
